Avery Biomedical Announces Change in Ownership

It gives me great pleasure to announce that on July 1, 2015, Dr. Dilys Gore, Antonio Martins (Tony) and I have acquired majority ownership of Avery Biomedical Devices (ABD) with the Dobelle family stepping aside yet keeping a small minority interest.

With over 60 years of experience amongst us, we have always held the highest quality standard for the Company to ensure the Avery Diaphragm Pacing System improves the quality of life for our patients, their families and caregivers. Please know, we will be continuing that commitment, because we have always measured our success by our patients’ success with our system.

Since acquiring ABD, we have been revamping customer service to make certain that our patients and clinicians are well served. We have hired Neil Grossman, PA-C as our Director of Sales, promoted Daniel Yim to Customer Service Manager and hired Scott Baron as Customer Service Specialist. We are certain with Neil at the helm and Daniel and Scott assisting him, you will receive the utmost care, attention and service.

Some other changes you will see include redesigning our website to make it more “user-friendly” and updating our informational literature. For our clinicians, please consider writing a journal article about your experience with diaphragm pacing. For our patients, we look forward to hearing about your personal success stories, so please continue to send them to us.

It was in 1970 that Roger Avery collaborated with Dr. William Glenn of Yale University on the development of the diaphragm pacing system. With that in mind, we will be expanding our research and development department enabling us to collaborate with our clinicians and patients to develop innovative medical devices and technologies.

This is just a sampling of some of the changes and ideas we have in mind for ABD. We hope you will be pleased with our commitment to you. Please feel free to call, e-mail or write with any comments, questions or suggestions. We always look forward to hearing from you.

Respectfully submitted,

Linda Towler
